Just to make you happy
I would leave you a note.
With a phrase written on it,
Which makes only you smile.
I would walk by a shop,
and instantly know,
I should get you that ugly ornament
because it would make you laugh.
I wouldn't see you for a day,
yet want to buy you flowers
because somehow I know you want them.
I would buy you a necklace,
with a stone just like the one
you picked up for me on the beach.
I would sketch you a picture
of a silly cartoon
just to see your reaction.
I would get a video
from a second hand shop
because I know you watched it
when you were little.
I would do anything silly.
Anything small or unexpected.
Just to make you happy.

One Day More
Sometimes the hill is just to steep,
the summit out of sight.
Fight to climb it through the day
and ache throughout the night.
The motivation's fading,
the energy depleted.
The pace has slowed and now
to reach the point of being defeated.
Now no longer walking,
and all the breathe is gone.
The hill slipped into darkness
and not one light is on.
If only to have seen it,
or had been by your side.
Together we'd have climbed it,
my aid with every stride.
Everything has stopped,
no longer just a chore.
The happiness to see you,
If just for one day more.

Playing with Paint
I was a canvas
Blank and waiting
Until Life began to paint
At first, a smaller paintbrush
Tiny Details
Pastel Colours
Brushes began to broaden
Colours changed their hue
I'm collecting a full pallet
Experimenting with patterns
Varying my strokes
Yes, there are dark patches
Corners of black
But in the very center
It's still the brightest white.

The 14th Day
The day has left its scarlet mark
Petals of my solo rose,
Not yet floated down.
The streets are running pink and red,
Hands of lovers tightly clasped.
Beating hearts as one.
Our Hearts are overflowing still.
Heave a sigh for me.
Feel it overtake you.
On the fourteenth day I loved you,
and this warm love fills me still.

Lily
I wrote this poem a while ago, and just found inspiration in the simplest thing, a flower:
Stains in flash of colour.
To touch the vivid dust.
Bright and vibrant fingertips,
To leave an impression.
Gentle index finger,
and tinted orange thumb,
Delicate and sensitive,
Petals wrap around.
Unfurled upon the world.
Swirls of white and pink.
Leave my Lily set aside
Until it's held again.

My Grandfathers Poem
Sorry I haven't posted in a while!
So here is a poem I wrote a while ago for my Grandad (hence the name!). It was for is birthday, and he loved it, so i was very pleased! He even framed it and put it on his wall. So here it is, my Grandfathers poem:
The moon and stars, not mine to give,
Heavens above too high to reach.
The earth too vast to harbor, and tie up with a bow.
But what I give, and always have,
Is unrelenting love.
And so, today, I present to you,
Not just words on a page,
Or ink on snowy paper.
My words come with admiration,
And a message simply saying.
"Grandfather, Happy Birthday"

Unravel
This poem is inspired by a song I was listening to as I wrote it. The song was 'Unravel' By Björk, and everytime I Listen to the album 'Verspertine' from which the song is from, I feel inspired. It's a beautiful album.
If you want to find out more about Björk, there's a link to her website in the list of external links on the side of this page.
So heres my music fueled poem, 'Unravel'
While I lye coiling and cocooning in my cotton womb.
My isolation warms me.
Keep me safe.
Make me new.
Restore me in my slumber.
As my body surrenders to my heart,
I drift amongst the lilies,
to the shores,
my eyes still clasped.
Submerged in my serenity.
My immense calm.
